Since 2018, Ukrainian Urban Forum has been facilitating the exchange of experience and networking among activists, researchers, government officials, and all those interested in the equitable and sustainable development of Ukrainian cities. The main goal of the forum is to deepen the discussion on urban development in Ukraine and to strengthen professional and informal ties in the community.
About Forum
“What is the Fair City” was the theme of the 2018 Forum.
We love living in cities. But in Ukraine, as urban dwellers, we face many injustices and daily inconveniences. We work to change these situations through research, networking, international experience, and by expanding our own ideas of what is possible — and impossible.
To help Ukrainian cities become better places for all residents, we organized the first Ukrainian Urban Forum.
Participants took part in lectures on housing policy, roundtables, and panel discussions on urban planning, regional development, and the impact of war on different social groups.
The Ukrainian Urban Forum was made possible with the support of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, the Heinrich Böll Foundation’s Office in Ukraine, and 350.org.
