Cedos representatives Olha Satsuk and Olesia Budz took part in Gender Mini-EdCamp Dnipro 2026, a traditional gathering of educators and experts dedicated to discussing current trends and challenges in education.

This year’s theme was “Stronger Together: Gender Equality, Inclusion, and a Supportive Community.” Participants explored tools and approaches that help create inclusive educational environments and foster a culture of mutual support.

Olha Satsuk, analyst and project manager at Cedos, facilitated an interactive workshop with case discussions titled “Resilience of Education Systems: A Gender Perspective.” She shared findings from a study on the resilience of education systems in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Together with workshop participants, she discussed several issues related to education in Ukraine, including:

  • how educators learn about gender-sensitive and inclusive teaching;
  • how they apply gender equality principles in practice.

Olesia Budz, analyst and project manager at Cedos, led a discussion workshop titled “Girls and Science: The Role of Schools in Shaping Future Women Scientists.” She presented the findings of a study on the motivations and barriers experienced by Ukrainian women in STEM. In particular, she focused on the factors that influence girls’ decisions to pursue careers in science.

Participants also shared their observations on how girls and boys choose their future careers and reflected on how teachers can help young people overcome stereotypes when making career choices.
